Pilgrimage church Maria Buch
Legends and stories entwine around the oldest pilgrimage church in Styria. The legend goes like this: Empress Eleonore (wife of Friedrich III) lost a prayer book while hunting. Unfortunately, there was a letter from a chivalrous admirer in it. In the greatest concern for her innocent reputation, Eleanor had therefore vowed to build a church for the Blessed Mother should the book reappear. And indeed: a hunting dog showed the book by barking loudly. At this point the church was built.
