At 1900m, Tauern is Europe’s highest altitude wind park. It consists of 13 turbines, each with a rotor diameter of 66m, a moving mass of 23,000kg and a hub height of 60m.
If you enjoy hiking, the wind park is just the beginning of a wonderful day in the mountains. If you travel by car along the toll road to the car park, you can hike from there to the Schönberg (1,943m) and the Hoher Zinken (2,222m) for a fantastic experience of meadows in bloom and Alpenroses.
