There are many stories surrounding this mine. One goes that it was the largest in the Alps and that the miners were rich men. However, they let their arrogance get the better of them and the place is now cursed ... One thing is certain - there are extensive tunnels that tell a fascinating story: One of the huge amounts of silver that were once found there. One of miners who dug for ore in smoke and almost no light. One of Zeiringer pennies, which were minted and were "legal tender" for medieval people. Today, those who enter the silver mines on Oberzeiring can certainly experience an ancient myth that captivated, and continues to captivate, people.
